Terms of Service
Effective: September 26, 2026
By creating an account or using DSnap, you agree to these terms. If you run the booth at an event, you also accept the event-operator responsibilities in Section 5.
1. The service
DSnap provides a web-based photo booth: capturing photos with your camera, applying layouts, frames, and filters, and saving, printing, emailing, or sharing approved photos via gallery and QR view links.
2. Accounts
- You must provide a valid email address and verify it (email signups), or sign in with Google.
- You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure.
- One person per account; signups are limited to 2 per device per day to curb abuse.
3. Acceptable use
- Do not capture or upload unlawful, harassing, hateful, or sexually explicit content, or content you have no right to capture.
- Do not attempt to bypass authentication, quotas (5 cloud photos per user), signup limits, or security rules.
- Do not photograph people who have not consented, especially where privacy is expected.
4. Your photos and content
- You keep your rights. You grant DSnap only the limited ability to store and display your approved photos so the gallery, QR links, and downloads work.
- Sharing warning: anyone with a QR view link can open that photo without signing in. Only share links with people you trust.
- You can delete your cloud and local photos at any time from the Gallery. Deleted photos cannot be recovered.
5. Event and kiosk use
If you operate the booth in Kiosk Mode for guests, you are responsible for informing guests that photos may be saved and shared through QR links, obtaining any consent required by local law, and supervising the device. Photos taken by guests on your session may count against your 5-photo cloud quota before overflowing to local storage.
6. Third-party services
DSnap runs on Firebase (authentication and database), and optionally EmailJS for photo emails you choose to send. These providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies. The app also loads libraries from CDNs (fonts, icons, QR, fingerprinting, reCAPTCHA), which may log basic technical data per their policies.
7. Availability
DSnap is provided as-is, without uptime guarantees. Features, quotas, or these terms may change as the project evolves. Cloud features require network access and a compatible browser with camera permission for capture.
8. Termination
You may stop using DSnap and delete your account from the Profile page at any time. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service or violate these terms. Termination does not automatically delete gallery photos — remove them in the Gallery first if you want them gone.
9. Disclaimer and limitation
To the maximum extent permitted by law, DSnap is provided without warranties of any kind, and the builder is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of photos. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction is to stop using the service.
10. Changes to these terms
Material changes will update the effective date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
